Kinderchirurgie

All hospitals do not specialize equally in the illnesses and needs of children of all ages. The Department of Paediatric and Adolescent Surgery offers all families a broad range of expertise and empathy.

Our range of treatments includes round the clock emergency care for all acute symptoms, neonatal surgery, pediatric traumatology, pediatric urology and abdominal and thoracic surgical procedures for patients up to eighteen years of age. We also specialize in the removal of pediatric solid tumors.

Outstanding specialists with great experience are in charge of all specialty areas. In some of these specialty areas, we are certified as a care center in Austria (pediatric traumatology) or recognized as an Associated National Centre by the federal ministry responsible for health (congenital malformations of the digestive tract, congenital vascular malformations).

We seek answers to "tomorrow's questions" today. As a department, we learn, teach and conduct research every day so we can identify and shape the "therapy of the future" in good time.

The uniqueness and the added value of our department are the result of the symbiosis between patient care, research and education. The department is jointly operated by the Medical University of Graz and the Styrian Hospital Association (KAGes). This interdisciplinary cooperation between both providers at the University Hospital Graz site is also reflected on our website. More information on patient care can be found at the University Hospital Graz website.
