Kinderchirurgie

Pathohistological characteristics of extra- and intramesenteric lymphatic malformations

A clear difference was observed between cysts filled with chyle and those filled with pure lymph fluid. This finding may influence the choice of treatment. Based on these results, a multicenter European study is being planned.

Chylous content might determine the optimal surgical approach for mesenteric lymphatic malformations in childhood - PubMed (nih.gov).

Therapeutic evaluation of granuloma pyogenicum

An outpatient cryotherapy treatment for pyogenic granuloma is currently being evaluated in a prospective study. This could eliminate the need for anesthesia in such cases in the future.
